For the 2010 model year, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 received changes like the rest of
the Mustang lineup, including styling updates and improved suspension,
while the supercharged 5.4L V8 was tweaked to 540 hp.
The nose-heavy handling was fixed for MY2011 with the introduction of a new
aluminum-block 5.4L V8 that weighed over 100 pounds less than the old iron engine and
developed even more power - 550 hp. For 2013, the GT500 received a massive power hike to 662 hp.
